About Skate Lakeshore

Our club has been servicing the Lakeshore area since 1973, founded originally as the Belle River District Figure Skating Club.

Skate Lakeshore is a non-profit organization that is administered by a very small group of dedicated volunteers who make up the Board of Directors. We hope to see our club grow over the coming years, in order to do this we require constant support from our parents and our skaters.

Skate Lakeshore operates out of Lakeshore Arena (Rink B) in Belle River, Ontario.

Snacks and refreshments are available at the canteen in Rink B on weekends from 8am-10pm and in Rink A Monday-Thursday during regular ice times.

Skate Canada is a very successful national organization and one of the reasons for this is the involvement of thousands of volunteers that help to keep things running. Some individuals have been volunteering for more than 50 years! There are many types of volunteer positions available and these can range from playing music at a club skating session to making policy at the national board level. Each year Skate Canada pays tribute to its volunteers at its annual meeting and awards are presented to those whose contributions have been recognized by their peers.
